Using the Fujita theory it was proposed to calculate diffusion widening of differential curves of distribution according to sedimentation coefficients q∗ (S∗, t) or integral curves Q∗ (S∗, t) (t-time) using one photography and three model functions: the Gaussian function, functions based on the generalized Schulz distribution and functions based on the Bisley distribution. Formulae were derived for q (s) and s = St = ∞∗; calculation using these formulae for the first two cases produced satisfactory (2–3%) agreement with extrapolation curves, independent of the analytical form of the model function. When there was complete disagreement between the model and distribution q∗(S∗, t), (third case) the curves calculated differed noticeably from extrapolated distributions. |
