Popis: | Background: During the covid-19 pandemic in West Java, there was a decrease in the number of visits and extended TB care for children, especially at Al-Ihsan Hospital due to the lack of health-seeking behavior from parents. One of the main predisposing factors of this behavior is knowledge. Increased knowledge becomes the basis for the formation of behavior.Purpose: To examine the relationship between parental knowledge of tuberculosis and health-seeking behavior in children during the covid-19 pandemic at Al-Ihsan HospitalMethod: Correlational research design with a retrospective approach. The study population consisted of 156 parents with tuberculosis children aged 0 to 14 years at the Pediatric Polyclinic of Al-Ihsan Hospital. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 51 respondents. The questionnaire used was adapted from a survey developed by World Health Organization (WHO) and tested for validity and reliability. The statistical test used the Spearman Rank test. Univariate and bivariate analyzes were used to analyze study data. Results: Analysis of the total score of parental knowledge of children's tuberculosis found that 37 out of 51 respondents (72.5 percent) had good knowledge and 14 out of 51 respondents (27.5 percent) had poor knowledge and 47 out of 51 respondents (92.2 percent) included in the modern health-seeking behavior and 4 out of 51 respondents (7.8 percent) included in the self-medication or self-treatment which showed a relationship between knowledge and parents' health seeking behavior towards child TB (p = 0.026 < α = 0.05; correlation coefficient = 0.311).Conclusion: There is a positive relationship with low correlation strength between knowledge and parents' health service-seeking behavior towards TB in children. Keywords: Children; Health-Seeking Behavior; Knowledge; Parents; TuberculosisPendahuluan: Selama pandemi covid-19 di Jawa Barat, terdapat penurunan angka kunjungan dan perpanjangan perawatan TB anak terutama di RSUD Al-Ihsan akibat kurangnya perilaku pencarian pelayanan kesehatan dari orang tua. |
