The Parecis Basin, a Brazilian intracratonic basin is covered by aeromagnetic, land gravity and airborne gravity surveys. A three-dimensional model of the basement topography of Parecis basin based on downward continuation of gravity field was assessed. It was proposed an integration of the current geophysical data with magnetotelluric data (MT) in order to estimate the proposed model in the new scenario provided by the geoelectric modeling. There were performed 55 MT soundings in a profile with average spacing of 8 km between stations with more than 500 km long. The location of the profile was chosen in function of the main geological units and of the structures evidenced by the potential methods. The 2D modeling of MT profile shows a succession of tectonic compartments that are coherent with the previously proposed model. However, for some compartments, the modeled depths differ sensibly of the proposed depths by the inversion of the potential methods data. A most deep study of the magnetic anomalies as well as the introduction of constraints coming from well and seismic data will be able to bring clearings on the source and on the meaning of these apparent disagreements in the depths. |
