Introduced Petasites spp. are of current concern to land mangers in the UK, particularly in sites of conservation importance. The current study will trial 12 physiochemical control methods against Petasites fragrans in twenty-six 1 m2 (duplicate & control) field trial plots (randomised where possible) in Taffs Well nr. Cardiff (South Wales). The principal aim of the project is to highlight effective (and ineffective) management and control methods, under highly controlled field conditions. It is hoped that this approach will help to promote effective management of introduced Petasites spp. under a range of potential site-specific circumstances. |
