Popis: | The authors assess the crack resistance of low-carbon martensitic 07Kh3GNM steel after different heat treatment and hardening cycles. The treatment included double air hardening from 910 degrees C for the purpose of obtaining a No. 7-8 grain size, air hardening from 1100 degrees C, and double hardening from 910 degrees C with repeated water quenching. Tensile and impact tests were conducted. The results show that the fracture toughness after the martensite transformation is maintained up to a tempering temperature of 550 degrees C and that a further increase in temperature leads to a 30 percent drop in strength with a corresponding increase in plasticity. |
