Popis: | The main-requirement for the Smart Grid applications is the integration of smart metering systems into a reliable and economically attractive communication infrastructure. Powerline is the key technology for IP-based data communication via existing power line networks. This paper studies the development of a ITU-T G.9960 (G.hn) based broadband powerline communication, which serves as part of a WAN/IP Network Infrastructure for Smart Metering and more advanced Grid Control applications. The general physical and communication network environment, which is relevant for the BPL network, will be described as well as additional functionality. Additional functions cover mainly the network management. Furthermore, we will present field trial results for G.6690 BPL network and discuss the most challenging problems during the implementation process. |
