We consider a second-order combline filter with an adjustable transmission zero (TZ), which has an extended stopband. This bandpass filter (BPF) uses a mixed coupling coefficient K = Km + K e between quarter-wave (λ/4) resonators. This coupling contains magnetic Km and electrical K e components. Appropriate selection of Km and K e components allows us to adjust the TZ position at real frequencies for a given value of $K$ (for a given bandwidth). The TZ f z can be located on different sides of the bandwidth central frequency $f$ 0 . The center frequency of the nearest parasitic passband fp is significantly removed from fo and the ratio of these frequencies fp/f 0 ≥ 7. Lumped elements are used to obtain the coupling between λ/4- resonators, as well as between resonators and loads. They are connected to the resonators at certain points, which provides the filter with an extended stopband. The experimental data of the second-order microstrip BPF, the stopband of which is characterized by the ratio of boundary frequencies f 2 /f 1 = 6.6 at an attenuation level of 25 dB, are presented. |
