Popis: 12 healthy male volunteers participated in this open, randomised, crossover study. On 2 study days at least 6 days apart the volunteers were given a single oral dose of lansoprazole 30mg with or without a standardised breakfast. When lansoprazole was concomitantly given with breakfast, the peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and area under the concentration-time curve (AUC) were decreased by approximately 50% for each of the two parameters. The time to reach Cmax (tmax) was doubled when lansoprazole was coadministered with breakfast. In conclusion, lansoprazole should not be taken concomitantly with food.
