Infantile cerebral palsy is the most common cause of motor disability in children and the main reason for medical consult is the of the progress and changes. The aim of this study was to compare clinical outcomes and quantitative (analysis of progress) of two treatment modalities in gait retraining: training with a robotic orthosis with treadmill versus a conventional method (therapeutic hydrotherapy tank ). We performed a controlled clinical study, randomized, single blind including 14 patients with hemiparetic, spastic cerebral palsy in two treatment groups. Clinical improvement was observed with the evolution to stage I of the GMFCS in total patients with a positive correlation between the PAF and the GMFCS. The group receiving the experimental treatment (group A) showed quantitative improvement determined by gait symmetry, stride length, and the proportion of cycles supported by the affected member compared to the control group (group B). There is more quantitative and clinical effectiveness in patients who undergo gait retraining with a robotic orthosis than with a conventional hydrotherapy approach. |
