Popis: Transition from equilibrium compact conformations of macromolecular segments in the amorphous phase of isotropic polymers to elongated conformations in oriented samples markedly reduces the yield of hydroperoxide per mole absorbed oxygen in oxidation. Since hydroperoxide is an agent branching kinetics chains of oxidation, a reduction of yield per mole absorbed oxygen reduces auto-acceleration and produces a considerable increase in the induction period of oxidation in the experiment. Chemical stress relaxation in oriented samples during oxidation, which is related to rupture of stressed macromolecules, increases the yield of hydroperoxide to values typical of isotropic samples.
