Background: The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) among adults younger than 50 years of age has continued to increase in many countries over the past two decades. Among younger patients with CRC, a lower awareness of symptoms may contribute to treatment delay, which perhaps leads to adverse consequence on tumor stage. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether delayed treatment influences the staging of CRC among symptomatic patients under the age of 50 years.
