Popis: Diurnal Mutillidae (velvet-ants) of the United States usually are easily recognized by their aptery and colored pubescence. Mickel, in various publications, has revised the genera Dasymutilla, Timutlla , and Pseudomethoca , and divided the genera into species groups based on structural characteristics.
