An ultra-low-power, low-noise logarithmic amplifier for biomedical applications is presented. The proposed logarithmic amplifier is based on the parallel-amplification parallel-summation technique that provided amplification for wide dynamic range input bio-potential signals in proper frequency bandwidth. Post-layout simulations of the proposed logarithmic amplifier were performed under ± 0.6V supply voltage using 0.18μm CMOS technology parameters. Four gain stages are used to attain a desirable performance. The proposed logarithmic amplifier exhibited an 84dB input dynamic range, the gain of 62dB in a bandwidth of about 0.2Hz-10kHz, a total input-referred noise of 4.2μV, and dissipated 3.36μW. |
