We present statistics on the number of women studying physics at two higher level institutes in Ireland from 2002 to 2008. We make a comparison with the numbers during the previous ICWIP meeting in 2005 and determine whether there is an increasing trend or no evidence of change. In general, our findings reflect that female students/postdoctoral researchers in academia do not feel any gender bias, and it is only at higher career stages that difficulties with being a minority in physics become apparent. |
