| Popis: | This brief report summarizes the results of a study of the alignment of auroral arcs from all-sky photopraphs taken during 20 aircraft flights in the northern polar region in 1969, 1970, and 1971. The oval distribution pattern of visible auroral arcs is clearly delineated by the observation. The results are in many respects in agreement with a recent study of the southern oval by Bond and Thomas (1971). |
