Popis:	The heavy-ion reactions (..cap alpha..,2n) and (/sup 18/O,p2n) have been used to study by ..gamma..-ray spectroscopy the nuclei /sup 71/As and /sup 73/As with emphasis on high-spin states. Spin and parity assignments were made on the basis of coincidence measurements, angular distributions, and excitation functions. Level schemes for /sup 71/As and /sup 73/As have been constructed which contain a stretched spin band on a g/sub 9///sub 2/ state.
