Popis: RESULTS: Successful overexpression of CuZnSOD was confirmed by western blot and polymerase chain reaction analysis. This validated the model system. The outcome of the Affymetrix microarray analysis was that at a cut-off value of 2 fold change, we identified 27 genes up-regulated and 47 genes down-regulated in response to over-expression of CuZnSOD. Among the novel genes upregulated were the anti-atherogenic genes TIMP3: tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3 and DOK5; docking protein 5. Among the novel genes downregulated were the pro-atherogenic genes HDGF: hepatoma-derived growth factor and BDKRB2 : bradykinin receptor B2.
