Gibberellin-affected methylation and synthesis of ribosomal RNA in isolated maize seed scutellum

Popis:	Gibberellin (GA 3 )-treated maize seed scutella show an enhanced synthesis of RNA as well as a significant increase in the methylation rate of tRNA, rRNA and RNA heavier than rRNA. GA 3 stimulates not only RNA synthesis and its methylation, but also activates the methylation rate of already synthesized RNA. The highest stimulation of [ 3 H]-uridine incorporation by GA 3 was found in cytoplasmic and nucleolar fractions of RNA.
