Popis: The paper deals with the processes of formation and decomposition in aerosol nanoparticles of binary metal alloys produced by fast evaporation of the sample in a rarefied Ar atmosphere. Formation of particles passes through combining clusters initially arisen in the vapor into larger groups, reconfiguration of which gives rise to the equilibrium state of the particles specified by the phase diagram of the binary system. Fast diffusion of atoms in small particles facilitates attaining the equilibrium state. It has been concluded that it is unlikely possible to prepare aerosol particles in a metastable state in spite of the extremely rapid quenching rate. Since the theory of nucleation and spinodal decomposition in aerosol particles of binary alloys turns out unsuitable, a new mechanism of decomposition of initial oversaturated particles arising from a homogeneous melt due to processes of preprecipitation has been suggested. The thermodynamic background of such processes has been considered. Particularly, (...
