Popis: | A focus group study was conducted to investigate the uses and rationale for texting among college students in the United States. Six focus groups responded to five main questions about uses, likes, complications, and other key issues. Results indicated that students were strategic in their channel choices and viewed texting simultaneously as making communication easier and more difficult. The attributes of texting (e.g., reduced cues, asynchrony) provided advantages like convenience, increased control, and reduction of inhibition, yet also contributed to miscommunication and other difficulties. |
