Popis:	The photochemical reaction of sulphur dioxide with PE under irradiation with light of λ = 313 nm has been studied. The kinetic results indicate an absorption reaction mechanism. It is shown that “exiplexes” of sulphur dioxide with the PE molecules are formed in the primary photochemical step. The final reaction products are sulphones.
