This study examines the role of actor-observer asymmetry in moral evaluation of feeling good (vs. bad) from taking revenge. Our design is a 2 (actor experiences pleasure vs. no pleasure after taking revenge) x 2 (actor vs. observer perspective) between-subjects design with three dependent variables (ascribed agency, ascribed communion, moral judgment). We investigate actor-observer asymmetries in ascribing agency and communion to an avenger and hypothesize that pleasure after taking revenge moderates these asymmetries. |
