Popis: Dental treatment can trigger anxiety, apprehension, fear, and discomfort to the awaiting patient. The objective of this study was to identify the presence of cervicalgia and the influence of tension and fear of dental treatment in patients of a clinical dentistry school. This is an observational and cross-sectional study, approved by the Ethics Committee (No. 2.683.186). There were included patients with ages ranging from 21 and 62 years, treated by the endodontic service. Data for the research were selected from 23 questionnaires. The partial results revealed that the prevalence of cervicalgia was 60.8% corresponding to 14 individuals, where 9 (64.2%) were women and 5 (35.7%) are men, predominantly between 21 and 53 years of age. According to The Copenhagen Neck Functional Disability Scale (CNFDS), 3 people (21.4%) demonstrated minimal disability, 4 (28.5%) mild disability, 3 (21.4%) mild-to-moderate disability, 2 (14.2%) moderate disability, 1 (7.1%) moderate-to-severe disability, and 1 (7.1%) severe disability. By means of the methodology used, it was observed that up to the present moment, the highest prevalence of cervicalgia was among females with mild disability in a dental clinic, with greater reference to tension during the procedure.
