Popis:	Nursing educators are challenged to construct nursing curricula that seek to prepare competent, humanistic nurses sustaining the spark to care. A qualitative research study, grounded in the phenomenological approach of Colaizzi (1978), explored the impact of a course, titled Body, Mind and Spirit: The Humanities in Nursing, to support this humanistic aspiration. The research findings suggest that the course experience impacted the students in augmenting an understanding of the human condition through the lens of humanities' modalities. The intentional, integration of humanities in nursing courses has the potential to sustain the student inspiration to provide humanistic care.
