Popis: Experiments were conducted to investigate the distribution of strain within the gauge length for specimens of the superplastic Pb-62 wt % Sn eutectic alloy tested at room temperature. It is shown that deformation is quasi-uniform at low strain rates in region II so that the necks are diffuse rather than localized, but failure occurs by the formation of a sharp neck at high strain rates in region III.
