Popis:	Single crystal growth of sodium beta alumina has been performed using the Czochralski technique. Loss of Na 2 O from the melt is inhibited by the use of 5,000–15,000 ppm oxygen in a flowing nitrogen atmosphere. Crystals produced were 2–3 cm in diameter and up to 15 cm long. Boules were grown along the a -axis.
