Popis: | In the area of decentralised combined heat and power (CHP) plants, the importance of biomass gasification shows a steady growth. Multistaged fixedbed gasification systems offer the highest potential due to their low tar content in the fuel gas and the high efficiency. When thinking of commercialsized plants above 150kWel the pressure drop over the fixed bed acts as a limiting parameter for many ambitious systems. An auspicious approach to avoid these problems is the new enhanced staged SCE gasification process that produces a nearly tarfree lowcalorific fuel gas, combined with a high coldgas efficiency rate. By the end of 2008, the producer gas has been tested on a gas engine for the first time and showed positive properties. The herewith presented study deals with the latest findings regarding the suitability of different green fuels for the SCE gasification process. According to the fueldependent properties, the operation range to run the floating bed reduction reactor was investigated. The outcomes of this study should lead to knowledge about the design of floating bed reduction reactors (FBRRs) to enable ideal conditions for this promising technology.
