This study investigated two types of formal planning and ministry effectiveness to determine if a relationship between these factors exists. Forty-five pastors from one denomination, most located in the Eastern region of the United States. participated in the study by returning a mailed survey. They were asked to respond to questions designed to measure the types of planning performed by each church, as well as the level of effectiveness attained in twelve key ministry areas. Data was analyzed using three nonparametric tests: Chi-square Test of Independence, Mann-Whitney U Test, and Kruskal-Wallis Analysis of Variance. Results revealed that formal planning may increase the overall effectiveness of church ministry. |
