Popis: | Results of two-photon induced fluorescence experiments in conjunction with those on resonance Raman profiles of chlorophyll a aggregates in hexane solutions are used to establish electronic origins in the Soret region. One of these aggregates is a donor-acceptor complex with electronic origins at 448.0 nm and 435.8 nm for the donor and acceptor molecules, respectively. For solutions which are greater than 1.0×10 -4 molar in chlorophyll, the trimer and tetramer complexes have increased in concentration and interference effects between close lying electronic states within one of these species may be responsible for three maxima in the resonance Raman excitation profile. One origin is estimated to be at 434.6 nm. |
