Conditions for rapid and gentle isolation of cytoplasmic tRNA from locust muscle

Popis:	Cytoplasmic transfer-RNA can be isolated from locust muscle essentially in one step if low concentrations of divalent cations are present in the homogenization medium and if the mineral macaloid is present during deproteinization of RNA in an amount corresponding to about 50 mg dry powder per g muscle fresh. The tRNA isolated in this way has been characterized by one- and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. The patterns of tRNA obtained with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis compare well with corresponding separations of tRNAs obtained with other methods and from other sources.
