1. 1. A case is presented of a vulvovaginal hematoma with severe internal perineal tears. 2. 2. There was no apparent etiology for these conditions inasmuch as the delivery was normal, there were no apparent blood dyscrasias, labor was not prolonged, the baby was normal in size and weight, and there were no convulsive or violent movements during delivery. 3. 3. There was an immediate hematoma followed by a latent period and finally true hematoma and tears. 4. 4. Surgery was instituted on diagnosis with complete recovery. 5. 5. A brief discussion of etiologic and surgical factors is presented. |
