Popis: | Marks in German school reports are not only based on written demonstrations of knowledge and ability. Students are expected to give oral contributions to the lessons as well. Frequency and intellectual level of this oral participation (explaining, discussing etc. ...) has to be evaluated by teachers. So a student's mark for a special subject is a combined measure reflecting test results and oral performance. Unfortunately the oral component of the total mark (to be weighted 50 % and more!!) seems to be rather ill-defined. In an empirical study based on evidence from students and teachers we tried to find out the indicators most frequently used in the assessment of that oral component. |
