Popis: | The method of moments ((MM) and the geometrical theory of diffraction (GTD) are formally combined into a hybrid MM-GTD technique. Wire type antennas are treated by the method of moments and their interaction with a large curved surface is accounted for through the GTD. Thus the mutual coupling between two dipoles in the presence of an infinitely long, perfectly conducting elliptic cylinder is analyzed for various orientations of the dipoles with respect to each other and with respect to the cylinder. Results are compared with an independent theory and with experimental data. Excellent agreement is shown, thereby demonstrating the accuracy of the hybrid MM-GTD technique. |
