Popis: | My interest in dental implants was sparked when I was asked to administer intravenous sedation for a patient undergoing implant surgery. I observed the surgeon place four maxillary anterior implants for a patient who had lost their teeth following a road traffic collision. I approached the surgeon and asked if he would mentor me. I was fully aware of my restorative limitations; however, my mentor was keen to develop an interdisciplinary relationship using my oral surgery knowledge and expertise at the core. This paper was written to highlight the challenges faced in modern implant dentistry and demonstrate that a systematic approach and interdisciplinary communication can lead to predictable results in the aesthetic zone. |
