Popis: | The Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity of the Human Being with regard to the Application of Biology and Medicine: Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine was prepared by the Committee of Experts on Bioethics/CAHBI and issued by the Council of Europe (CoE). It is known as the Oviedo Convention because it was opened for signature in Oviedo (Spain) in 1997. This legally binding international document in the field of bioethics was requested by the Steering Committee on Bioethics (CDBI). Its first draft was presented in 1992 and subsequently adopted by the Committee of Ministers in 1996. It entered into force in 1999 and was ratified by 29 of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe (2017). |
