Popis: The mineral concentrations of both roots and leaves of bitter almond were significantly greater in plants infested by Meloidogyne javanica or M. incognita than in uninfested plants. K, Ca, Mn and Cu concentrations of roots and leaves were increased; P concentrations of leaves and N concentrations of roots were also increased. The concentration of Fe was significantly decreased whereas those of Mg and Zn were unaffected. There were no significant differences in mineral concentrations of roots or leaves between nematode-infested Nemaguard peach plants and control, except that the Fe concentration of roots was significantly less in infested plants. No qualitative differences in combined amino acids were found between healthy and nematode-infested bitter almond plants but there were some differences in free amino acid contents. The concentration of total carbohydrates in Nemaguard peach was unaffected by nematode infestation. M. incognita significantly decreased the total carbohydrate concentration of both roots and leaves of bitter almond and M. javanica significantly decreased the total concentration of carbohydrates in roots.
