Popis: This paper presents a novel, compact 5G millimeter wave patch antenna, and linear antenna array of 4x1 which provides better gains and desired VSWR. The substrate used is Rogers RT-5880 of dimension 6.2 x 6 mm2 and thickness 0.508 mm. The dimension of antenna patch is 1.85 x 1.75 mm2 The proposed 5G antenna can provide percentage bandwidths of 2.81% and 3.68% for the central frequency of 41.60 GHz and 54.58 GHz respectively using microstrip-line feeding techniques. The 5G linear array of 4x1 elements having inter elements spacing of 4.25mm using tapered line feeding is able to achieve resonant frequencies of 37.09 GHz, 48.24 GHz and 53.42 GHz having percentage bandwidths of 5.71%, 5.88% and 3.22% respectively. The return losses for these central frequencies are −21.19 dB at 37.09 GHz, −21.52 dB at 48.24 GHz and −13.35 dB at 53.42 GHz frequencies respectively, and the VSWR is obtained as desired.
