Popis: | The method of investigation of the subcritical crack growth in brittle ceramic materials with the recording of acoustic emission /AE/ signals is reported. Samples were examined using double torsion method at constant strain rate. The AE signals recording was used in order to observe the initiation of the crack growth and to obtain the stress intensity factor dependence on crack growth rate. The automatic method of processing of the values of loading and number of AE signals is reported. The results of such measurements are presented for specimens cut off from ceramic long-rod insulators produced by various European factories. |
