Many studies have been done to determine the effects of EMF exposure on health. In spite of reports of beneficial effects of EMF on human health1, public attention has focused on potential hazardous effects. The possibility of a negative health effect was initially based on epidemiological studies that linked EMF to increased cancer incidence. The presence of other extenuating factors, however, often makes such studies difficult to interpret, and the evidence for EMF association with cancer has been inconsistent. For virtually every study that shows a positive correlation, there is a report of no association. The conclusion is that other avenues must be sought to confirm or negate the proposed correlation between EMF exposure and cancer or any other outcome. |
