Whereas T cell colony forming cells (T-CFC) derived from the peripheral blood are E+, many bone marrow derived T-CFC appear to be E-. It has been suggested therefore, that these marrow E- T-CFC are pre-thymic T cell progenitor cells capable of proliferation and maturation without a thymic micro-environment. |
