Popis: | We introduced a novel afterheater which surrounds the optical focal components in the laser heated pedestal growth (LHPG) apparatus and enclosed the growth assemblies including the focal components in a chamber, in order to control both the temperature gradient around the solid-liquid interface and the environmental atmosphere. The optical homogeneity of the cerium doped strontium barium niobate (SBN:60) single crystal fiber is improved. It is grown along the a-axis [100] with a diameter of about 0.7 mm by using this modified LHPG method. The apparatus is described in detail and crystal quality is discussed in relation to growth conditions and crystal morphology. |
