Owing to the numerous industrial significance of acrylic acid, it is mandatory to separate it from their aqueous solution. In the present study, an attempt was made to justify the competency of natural oils towards the physical extraction of acrylic acid using Castor oil, Niger seed oil, and Karanji oil at 303, 323, and 343 K. The results of physical extraction are discussed in terms of distribution coefficient (θ), extraction efficiency (ƞ), partition coefficient (ψ), dimerization constant (σ). Castor oil is the appropriate candidate for the physical extraction of acrylic acid having 53.13% extraction efficiency and distribution coefficient is 1.51. On the other hand, low extraction efficiency was found with Karanji oil 16%. |
