A multidirectional CO2 laser absorption technique is developed to determine temperature and density profiles within a shocked gaseous interface originated by Richtmyer-Meshkov instability in a square cross-section shock tube. We show that this diagnostic method is suitable for these kinds of experimental shock tube studies. Beyond the experimental data base, to be used in numerical simulations, results point out the influence of the shock tube walls and corners upon the phenomena being investigated. |
