Popis: Ischemia is known to affect endothelium-dependent reactions of cerebral vessels and to change the metabolic and myogenic mechanisms regulating brain blood flow. The role of local neurogenic regulatory mechanisms in changes in the reactions of cerebral vessels after ischemia remains incompletely understood. The aim of the present work was to study the reactions of pial arterial and venous vessels in rats to noradrenaline before and 2, 7, 14, and 21 days after ischemia induced by occlusion of both carotid arteries for 12 min with simultaneous control of hypotension at level of 45 ± 3 mmHg. Ischemia was found to increase the constrictor reaction to noradrenaline of mainly small pial arteries and arterioles and third-degree venules. Increases in the number of constrictor reactions in rats subjected to ischemia, persisting to post-reinfusion day 21, were most marked at post-ischemia day 14. The post-ischemic increase in adrenoreactivity may be linked with an increase in the reactivity and sensitivity of adrenoreceptors of cerebral vessels.
