Raman spectra of the barium oxide peroxide and strontium oxide peroxide series

Popis: series were recorded in order to investigate the inNuence of Ba(O 2 ) 1ox O x Sr(O 2 ) 1ox O x varying OEO bond lengths on the Raman-active O‐O stretching modes in each series, and to obtain additional information on the samples from this. In the barium peroxide series, the O‐O stretching mode in the Raman spectra was found to vary between 843 and 853 cmo1 with a total change in bond length of 2.5 pm, from 149.3 to 146.8 pm. In the strontium peroxide series a wavenumber variation from 865 to 873 cmo1 was observed with a change in bond length from 148.3 to 145.0 pm, a total change of 3.3 pm. 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (
