1. The toxicity of arsine and stibine to susceptible and phosphine-resistant strains of Rhyzopertha dominica was studied. Both arsine and stibine produced dose-related mortality in all the strains tested. 2. The toxic effects of arsine and stibine were negatively correlated with the level of phosphine-resistance in insect strains. 3. The mechanisms of insect resistance to phosphine are discussed in the light of results. |
