Popis: In this paper a Embedded File Manager for Mobile Devices (EFMMD) implementation based on RMS (Record Management System) of J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) is presented. EFMMD is focused on CLDC-MIDP (Connected Limited Device Configuration- Mobile Information Device Profile) application developers for PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) devices. RMS stores data using record collections called recordstores. Each recordstore is composed by a variable size array of bytes and a unique sequential identifier called recordId. Despite of perform basic management operations, it is not possible to do it as in the relational model. EFMMD implements a set of relational model characteristics through four basic classes: Database, Table, Tuple and DatabaseException, each one have methods that enable to model data structures and their behavior, giving the users the capability of data management as in a traditional DBMS (DataBase Management System).
