Popis: | The preparation of a magnesium aluminosilicate glass-ceramic matrix composite having an approximately matched thermal expansion coefficient to the silicon carbide fibre reinforcement is described. Data are presented on the process conditions necessary to produce a composite with matched thermal expansion coefficients, the strength and work of fracture of the composite at ambient temperature, and also the effect of temperature on the mechanical properties. |
