A Wideband Vertically Polarized Omnidirectional Antenna for Indoor 2G/3G/LTE/5G Applications

Popis: A wideband vertically polarized (VP) omnidirectional antenna is presented for the 2G/3G/LTE/5G communication systems in this work. The proposed antenna is composed of a ground plane, a center-fed discone with a dual-sleeve structure, and a top-loading circular patch that is printed with four U-slots and four arc-shaped slots. Here, the top circular patch is connected to the ground plane by using four shorting legs. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed antenna achieves an enhanced impedance bandwidth of 0.68-4 GHz for |S11|≤-15 dB. Besides, it can radiate omnidirectionally in the horizontal plane, which can be widely applied in indoor distributed communication systems.
