The objective of this scoping review (Peters, 2016) is to map the available evidence to provide an overview of the gender citation gap in the general context of scientific citations among all scientific disciplines. The specific questions, in regard to the available international published literature, are: • To what extent does the gender citation gap exist across different scientific disciplines? • What methods have been used to determine the gender citation gap? • What quality criteria have been used within the included studies investigating the gender citation gap? • Is there a development over time in the gender citation bias in included studies? |
